PC case designing software?
Hello!

i want to make my own Lian li like pc table case, since lian li is extremly expensive,
my only problem is i m bad at CAD software, is there any other software where i can design a pc?

I've just noticed one of your own earlier posts. So something mount an atx motherboard? Is that what you want to do? Back in the olden days motherboards were mounted to a sheet which was then mounted to the case. If you can find a super old atx case you could just take that plate out. I ran a gaming PC like that for years. The sheet and motherboard sat on a bookshelf!

imagine a table, take the pc tray thingy mount it on that table, add walls and a glass top onto the table, thats it, + holes for usb, fans, etc., its easy, just want to plan it before i buy all the items

Tbh, still cant picture exactly what the end result would look like but I would just roll my sleeves up and get stuck in. Designs are great but not all the time.

Are there any images in google that show what you want?

You'll need to learn CAD to construct a PC case (or the more tedious pen and paper)

If you want learn, I would recommend TinkerCad to learn some basics.

Then move on to Fusion 360 when you're ready to get serious.

YouTube has tons of tutorials for both.

There is also FreeCAD

like this, there you can see the skillfully drawn, table, including mainboard, radiators, ssds, imagine some walls on the side, and the transparent line is supposed to be tempered glass, so you can see into the case

Sketchup is free and dead simple. Virtually every youtube channel about woodworking recommends it, even the 80 year old who've barely seen a computer.

In order to build a PC case is to look at the measurements associated with either MATX, ATX, EATX or CEB motherboaard, you'll have to decide the materials used, and coatings required, You'll also either need to bend metal or, you'll be bonding panels together (welding or screwing) Most PC cases to keep continuity use "bent" metal panels that are welded together.

the working aspect is perfectly fine, i have all the tools in the world, except i still dont know what coating i m supposed to put on and for what, but other than that i just need to design it + measurements , i wanted to pay someone on fiver, but i l probably wont like the design they will make for me

If you want to you could wrap it in carbon fibre. Powder coating is another option, but you will have to send it to a company, powder coating uses electrically charged metal where a ceramic like coating is applied then baked on. You'll also have to decide what paint you want, matte, gloss or semi-gloss. If you want to be able to take the sides off easy you'll need to know a bit about mechanical engineering, simple pin release systems are fairly easy but you'll be designing it using springs and custom mechanical components. The mesh you want will require something akin to security screen mesh, so you'll have to find out how to attach that to the case.

Perforated mesh comes in any number of types, Hexagons, Holes, and then they also come in several types of material coating such as Zinc anneal or Galvanisation.

If you are prepared to spend €1000 why not just buy one? There's many available at or under that price, I guess you could also look at someone like https://www.protocase.com/ who will do the work for you, for a price.

To actually make a computer case you'd need the following tools.

Welder (Depending on the materia aluminium, steel, or some other material composite. TIG, MIG or Arc)
CNC Plasma cutter (Can do elaborate patterns)
CNC Engraver or laser engraver (Add nice designs to the acrylic case panel or metal)
Metal lathe
Dip tank (For applying coatings - Galvanising, Zinc or some other coating) In the dip-tank you'll be contending with high voltages and high current hazards.

Its far from a simple task.

I am failing to see how this reply has anything in the slightest to do with what I said.

Beyond that, you could make a case with a pen and paper, a saw, a screwdriver and some wood if you want to get technical about it, like with most things in life, if you break it down, there us nothing technically difficult about what the Op wants to do, they just lack the commitment to do said things.

I mean an old case and a dremel would do the job for most of what he wants followed by basic wood working skills.

All the crap you listed is only if you want to produce a high end traditional case, but, most of it isn't needed.

I really like the brainstorm here,

as I said I literally have access to every single tool modern humanity have in use.

The only thing I will need though is a 50€ welder some aluminum a hand drill and maybe a ruler if I want to get snobby

If I do spend more than 1000€ I would rather buy that one lian li table for 1400€, BUT 1400€ is alot for a table that's not EXACTLY how I want it

I haven't found any other table cheaper than 1k, and I doubt anyone would do one,

Again i just need a software where I can design this project, also free cad is the worst cad in history,

I'll have a look at protocase but they will probably have horrendous prices.

My original plan was to buy one of these and add a ugly aluminum box on top of it: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B08F7GF39S/ref=mp_s_a_1_87?dchild=1&keywords=height+adjustable+table&qid=1608954426&sr=8-87

But since protocase also does the coating part, I thought I let them make that aluminum box, I still have to send them a cad file for reference,
