I have had G502 for a few years. It's not that great of a mouse - I don't really like it, I prefer the G500s. The G502 hero just has a better sensor I think..

the G502 proteus is the best mouse on the market in my opinion bought
G502 hero all (3 RMA) of them had the double click issue finally gave up on them
found another PROTEUS and bought it.if the one im using ever gives out

In the grand scheme of things 120g is nothing, you are going to be able to lift it even if you have no muscle mass.

But it's the same logic behind say soldiers wanting/needing lighter guns. They/you are using the same thing all day, you don't want to wear yourself out. Weight contributes to tiredness, muscle strain, and overall usability.
In the case of a mouse, it does get easier to aim, you're not slogging a brick around all day, it's easier to stop moving, and control in general.

I was quite sceptical at first, I had a Deathadder Chroma (105g) and I was fine with that. But I recently got an Endgame Gear XM1 (70g) and the weight difference really does improve my aim.
It is much easier to control and make do what you actually want.

Now, liking heavier mice is fine, if you know you actually like that. That doesn't mean you should discredit slight mice as a fad or gimmick (at one point, heavy mice were the gimmick that everyone did, and if it wasn't heavy it was bad and 'not well built.')

You genuinely should give lighter mice a try. It a much better experience.


But, as a whole, the G502 is massively overhyped, and it's not even that good of a mouse.
The shape is okay (depends on the person, but usually you can get better for your hand), the sensor is meh (unless you get one with Hero sensor), the amount of buttons and their placement isn't thought out, how many people actually utilise them all? The feet and cable are quite bad (feet aren't large, so they dig into pads, and the cable is very stiff) the switches are 50m Omrons, and Logitech and 50ms are a mixture that results in double clicking. The rubber coating they (Logitech) use on mice has a habit of wearing hard, seemingly like it 'melts' where you use it. And the weight is just crazy, at if I can recall correctly, 125-150g, that's double what the weight of a better modern mouse is.

Realistically there isn't a reason to buy the G502 now, not with so many better mice. Only reason to buy the G502 is if you REALLY need the unlock able scroll wheel (but they do offer other mice with that feature iirc.)

Yes less buttons, 10 M clicks, 1 ms reaction, 125-1000hz/s report rate, 2400 dpi but l found it to cost only 15 euros good for first person shooters and little bit better for game like fortnite

But this is your choice

I have had several Logitech mice, and I have seen several posts - the rubber wears out pretty quicky.
They don't use the same sensor, the G502 Proteus uses the PMW3366 sensor, and the Hero uses Logitechs Hero sensor.
The feet they use are small, they don't have much surface area, this isn't good for a smooth glide.
Cable, it has super thick rubber shielding, it makes it annoying and stiff - using a paracord type cable makes it feel almost wireless.
Yes, if you are using it constantly, you will get more tired than with a lighter mouse, that is a fact. It's harder to control, because you're constantly moving a large mass.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but it's an old outdated mouse, not worth considering. There are better things on the market.

Don't even consider clone* mice, they're almost always going to have garbage sensors that spin out, and have tons of smoothing.

Everything is ok on this mouse (model 2017)
It is coming with additional software too
BTW Ryzer meybe are the best but overpriced
