Does a BSOD mean hardware issue?
I got this computer a few weeks ago, it is a prebuilt (I know), but there was an odd bsod error with a frowny face, so my pc was forced to restart. One odd thing I noticed was that my monitor's screen was tinted a vibrant purple at my desktop, and occured after leaving my computer idle after eating, no games or anything playng. The purple tint went away, after the PC was forced to restart with the 'frowny face', blue screen error.

This was the first time that it happened after several weeks of owning the PC. It hasn't happened since then (occurred several hours ago). I could warranty it still, but would the hassle be worth it? I hope that its not hardware related, I feel if a memory issue was present, it would happen all the time. This may happen again, or who knows? I just don't think its normal. I did have a windows update after clicking scan for updates, but I don't think not having the update would cause it.

Specs are;

Ryzen 5 3600- Matisse

RX 580

motherboard: Asrock b450M/ac

16GB DDR4 - corsair vengeance lpx @ 3200 MHz- I have the XMP profile enabled, I doubt that would cause issues so intermittently though.

Storage: 1863GB Western Digital WDC (SATA (SSD)), 223GB Western Digital SSD

Windows 10

based on windows' own error log: unknown error/ inconclusive.
---

might be good to backup important files somewhere else, clean install windows 10 (20H2), and install all latest chipset drivers and reboot as needed.

Read the log. They are always logs of such errors within Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application

I will do that soon and post my findings here.

the BSOD has a stop error code. copy, QR code it, or take a picture of it.

you pc specs lack the brand/model of psu (power supply unit).

It is an EVGA 600 watt 80 gold plus, sorry I forgot to mention that in the post.

its the classic attempt was made to execute non-executable memory error its not going to give you any information on this one. most likely cause of this particular error is driver issue(s) can even be caused by conflicting drivers. (even in windows 10) limit the amount of devices (try disconnecting non essentials) and update as many drivers as you possibly can. I have seen this error caused by faulty memory (ram or gpu) and hard drive errors as well. This is not typically power supply or heat related.

also this issue may not happen again and if its a very rare issue i wouldn't be too concerned about it. its possible you wont see it again. if you see it on a regular basis i would be concerned

If there was a BSOD, isnt there a *.dmp file you can read out?
