CPU core temps?
As we are going into winter I was checking the temps in my CPU and GPU with Open Hardware Monitor when I noticed this in my CPU temps.

I have a i9-9900K CPU 8 core, when I broke down the CPU I got down to Nuvoton NCT6791D voltages and then temperature. Under Temperature it had CPU Core and then Temperature #1 thru #6. None of the temperatures exceeded 31.0 C except for Temperature #4 which holds pretty steady at 102.0 C. That seems awfully high to me but I do not know whether this is normal or not.

This is why I am posting on this forum, I figure you guys could tell me whether this is normal or something I should be concerned about.

may have been a bad job applying thermal paste
an air pocket or void above that sensor/core

Either an EXTREMELY bad paste job, bad temp sensor, or whatever you're using to check temps is incorrect.

Doesnt make sense really with the positions of the cores on the die, the others should have been affected as well

so eh..

try using something else to check temps, like HWMonitor

bad sensor should have been filtered out in binning process or read 128/255

or it may be the program looking at the wrong place for the sensor
check with hwmonitor or aida

I tried checking with HWMonitor and all the temps were within normal ranges. It must have been a false reading with Open Hardware.

I appreciate your replies, is is a load off my mind.
