New SSD

Having issues with my new SSD not being integrated correctly. It shows up under devices, but doesn't show up in disk management. Adding 1TB SDD.

Try a different SATA cable, probably something wrong with the one you're using

That didn't solve the issue. This is what I am seeing when I go to device manager.

The Device is working properly.

evice SCSI\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_860_EVO_1TB\5&2c87fca0&0&030000 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

What happens when you try to make a new partition onto it?

how is the drive connected?

if you have m.2 drives and its a sata, check the mobo manual to see which sata ports are disabled when the m.2 s populated

I am out of sata ports on the motherboard. So I had to install a sata extension card. The SSD is plugged into that.

Plug the drive into a known working port and see if it works from there.

Also I assume the SATA expansion card is plugged in via PCI-E, and therefore should show up under devices. Have you checked the drivers for that as well?

Yes it is installed on the PCI-E. I updated the drivers on that aswell.

Very odd. What does it show up as under BIOS, fully detected?

Could just be a bad drive. Probably still within the exchange/refund period so it might be the easier option.

When I restart an hit f2 to get into the bios. The new SSD shows up on there aswell. Its been such a damn pain to get this to work.
