Frozen/Invisible Desktop Icons

So something weird happened to me today. My desktop icons "copied" each other and the original ones are frozen and can´t be removed, in fact they are not even counted as icons as I tried to hide all icons and they still remained on the desktop. I need help! I have never seen this before and I have no idea what I am supposed to do.
