My Realtek audio is messing with my games audio.
I've been having this problem for over a week now and I just can't fix it. I've googled it, I've looked at forums, I've looked everywhere at this point and can't find anything about my problem... It's not my headphones, it's not anything I've seen before anywhere else but only me is having this type of problem. One of the biggest problems I'm having with it is my audio is crackling and my audio randomly just gets really really loud for no reason. It happened with YouTube videos, it happened with my games audio, and other things. Is someone out there going to help me out with this? I just can't take the crackling and popping audio anymore!

What are your specs? Having you tried updating/reinstalling the drivers.

How do you know it's not your headphones? Desktop speakers do the same thing?

Beyond mentioning Google and Forums nothing in your post indicates what have you ACTUALLY done to try to solve the problem.

I've tried updating the drivers, and nothing happens. I don't know what are specs. Heck, I don't know a lot about computers to be honest.

The forums were something like Microsoft and Dell and yet I found nothing related to my search. My search was "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver crackling" and there was nothing about my search result.

I was referring to not posting anything you had done to solve the problem.

You then clarified about updating the driver after I and Brockenstein asked.

1) Have you another set of headphones you can test?

2) Do you have a set of desktop speakers you can test?

3) What is your operating system. Windows 10?

Please note:

Updating drivers is not always the best solution as the driver you are overwriting may be corrupted. Best to completely uninstall the Realtek software then reboot your PC. Reinstall the driver software upon reboot. Next reboot the PC again after installing. Test to see if fixed.

My operating system is Windows 10. I've tried another set of headphones, and it's still crackling. I don't want to get rid of it because I don't know what will happen after I do it. I once disabled it, and my audio went out. I know NOTHING about computers. And I also don't have a desktop speaker or whatever it is. I do not want to start a fight with anyone about what I said and what I don't understand.

As you said you have little computer knowledge please do the following.

1) Go here and download the driver:

https://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/17056/

Click on the first option to download: Windows 64/32 bit

2) Next follow this guide to uninstall programs on Windows 10.

https://uk.pcmag.com/gallery/121777/6-easy-ways-to-uninstall-programs-in-windows-10

Note: you will be uninstalling the Realtek software then reboot your PC.

3) When you are back on Windows, double left click on the file you downloaded from techspot to install the software.

4) Let the install finish then reboot your PC.

5) Test.

6) Is the problem now solved?

IMO the realtek driver is the cause of the majority of win10 update headaches and very difficult to resolve - better off using your GPU audio out if your monitor has a line-out or headphone out or getting a PCI or USB sound card.

I got a SB Play!3 some years ago, and have upgraded win10 many times without any audio problems - ignorance is bliss!

My audio is finally the same way again! And you don't have to be an a##hole about it. Some people don't know how to fix these things on there own, (Like me.) so you don't have to be bitter about it.

Pointless asking for help then lashing out at anyone actually trying to help you. Kind of like giving a beggar a coin then taking 4 coins out of their cup.

Your lack of knowledge or knowledge of computers dictates how responses are framed, the basic "here is how to do something" versus "tech speak".

Obviously neither response is viable but more importantly what is very clear is you are ungrateful for any help offered.

You must disable the ability for OS to allow volume changes. It's in the Communication tab in Windows Playback/Recording, set it to " do nothing"

If using headphones, plug into rear motherboard port, not the front case port. Configure the device as 2.1 speakers, not Headphones. If enabled, disable "Loudness Equalization"
