Weird green/purple film over videos on chrome?

Reason I'm concerned is because this is a new PC. The issue only seems to happen on google chrome (I tried it out on microsoft edge, doesn't seem to happen).

That appearance will present itself when I go in fullscreen mode in either twitch or youtube, but then it quickly goes away until I re-enter fullscreen again.

I have both an AMD processor and GPU. I tried turning on/off hardware acceleration as well as reinstalling chrome.

I hate to say it and hope I am wrong. But all of one color ..especially green usually means the GPU is failing. But since your only getting in Chrome that does not seem to be the case. Try reinstalling Chrome. However if you see it in any other app or game I would suspect your GPU.

I already tried reinstalling chrome, didn't work. And yeah, it doesn't happen in other browsers and it only happens in videos or streams through chrome.

I still have a warranty on this computer, so maybe I can go through the trouble and replace it.

I might be a failing gpu. However one browser might be in hardware acceleration mode and the other is not.

So first let's do a gpu 3d clock test.
Use MSI Kombuster and see if you get corrupted images/colors during a test or benchmark with that app.

I thought I already turned off hardware acceleration in chrome, but I tried it again and the problem no longer persists. Should I still be worried and run a stress test? Not sure why I'd have to turn off hardware acceleration.

So how do I rule out a GPU hardware issue?

Also, how are you so sure its a GPU issue? I mean theres no possibility its a glitch? So I should just use my warranty and get another computer? I just see a lot of people complain about the hardware acceleration on chrome, with very good computers. Are you suggesting all those people have failing cards as well?

Also, hardware acceleration is enabled in microsoft edge and the problem doesn't happen here. Doesn't the 3d clocks work in video games as well? So wouldn't I notice something odd there?

If it doesn't present itself in games, why would I run the test? Much more intensive things have happened on this computer, a youtube video wouldn't cause that - IF thats the metric you're using. The GPU test is really just a stress test, I looked it up. Some warnings are even made that it could damage the system.

I'm not trying to reject advice, I'm just trying to understand. It makes absolutely no sense that stressing my GPU would replicate the issue, as I've played a lot of games so far at full load, no issues.

Well if doesn't do it in any games yea I not sure why Chrome would do this only when in acceleration mode. But that is usually best left off when you have a powerful enough cpu anyways. The reason it's defaulted to on is to cover users using lower end systems, such as a laptop, as with that feature enabled will use a mix of cpu and gpu and not just cpu.

So I'm just gonna return the pc and get a new one. Before I do, I'll try to use a different DVI cable and monitor. But i highly doubt that is the culprit. It's only on chrome with hardware accel- but its there with no explanation. So I'm not taking my chances and I'm returning the PC. Screw that... by the way- that image I provided is very important. Because everytime I go into fullscreen mode on a video on chrome it looks exactly. The. Same. - it will quickly go away , but that very same waffle shape of green appears- why is it the same shape and discoloration? Who knows. But it's not right.

Why are computers so unstable. If you look at it the wrong way, a component fails. I kinda wish mac made gaming computers at this point. PCs always have something faulty.

Did you build it yourself?

If it's a prebuild, wipe the OS drive and perform a clean install of Win10 64bit, after making your own Win10 usb flash drive.
