Can I install Steam on Raspberry Pi 4?
Hi,
I'm after some advice.. I would like to install Steam on Raspberry Pi 4 that is being used as a simple PC. When I try to do this, after download and start of install it's coming up with an error "You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:
libc.so.6"
I have searched the web for solutions and came across some similar Ubuntu problems which were also logged as Ubuntu bug but ended up shelved as the issue seemed to be with .deb file provided by Valve... that was back in 2016 though, so I wouldn't have thought it was still an issue... none of the fixes and workarounds that I came across help me. Any advice on how to get around this or maybe to confirm if installing Steam is actually viable on Raspberry Pi?
Thanks

Install Windows 10 Home 32bit on it if you havent or Linux. Most Raspberry pi's have their own OS if im right?

Steam only has binaries available for the x86 architecture, Steam will not run on the Raspberry Pi 4 which is ARM AArch64.

You can try to run Steam using box86, but it will probably not work or it will have serious issues.

The best you can do is use the Steam Link for Raspberry Pi app and Stream your games from your PC to the Raspberry Pi.

I am suprised you got the installer to give you a meanigful error at all.

Also, on Linux NEVER download installers from the internet. Use the package manager or "Appstore" build in to your Linux distro.

Install rasbien stretch
The run a terminal after its installed
Type "sudo apt-get steam" without quotes.
Wait for steam to install.
Done

Use sudo apt-get for updates and any app you want to install. Just type 'sudo apt-get xxxx" xxxx = name of application you want installed.

Doesn't work.. The Steam Client doesn't work on this device. And neither is is it in the Raspbian repos (Because it doesn't work on this device!).

ARM cpus don't support anything X86 compatible so no it wouldn't work. You can stream to a Raspberry Pi though

^ yes this as well.

Ryzen is really putting Intel NUC to shame and allowing for affordability in a MiniPC/HTPC
