is it worth upgrading from i5 3470 to i7 3770 for content creation and gaming?

i have i5 3470 with 8g ddr3 ram and rx 580 xxx gpu
i'm doing gaming and recording gaming and rendering with express takes me about 5 hours for 1 hour of gaming recording 1080p 60 hz, is it worth getting the i7 3770 cpu and would it make any difference in the rendering of my gaming video editing time. or should i just upgrade my ram to 16?

For something that old, I'd just go with a new build.

so far i been running new games pretty well on high-ultra depends on the game, and i can't afford getting new build at the moment

Just stick to what you have, and plan on building a new system later.

Going with the i7 wouldn't make a huge difference.

16GB would be good for just games, but not really sure if it comes to video editing and livestreaming.

btw which video editing software do you use?

i'm using D3DGear for recording and hitfilm express for editing and proccessing and it takes about 5 hours to process a 1 hour video, that's why i was wondering if getting the i7 with the multithread would help with that, i have no idea about those stuff.and i don't do live streaming btw, not till i get a second screen.

to be honest i have no idea what the mobo is, it's a dell workstation hardware it's a optiplex 3010 desktop which i changed some parts and case

An i7 might be faster. If it's not free then I wouldn't bother. Also changing cpus can have bad effects. It might work well though?

i don't think so. have no idea how to check that kind of stuff lol, i have basic knowlage about putting a build together but that's about it

thx, i guess upgrading to 3770 may change my processing speed to about 50% better time and more if it would be the same with hitfilm express, guess it would help to upgrade :), i think it worth the $80

For $80 I wouldn't bother, but it's completely up to you. Games today require at least 6 cores minimum, so upgrading to another quad core just makes no sense. Who knows, games might not even start on quad core systems like what happened to dual cores.

Trust me, put that money towards a better system. You'll be glad you did in the long run. I was in the same position as you with an i5 4460, and I'm glad I waited to build another system.
