Its fine and quite normal. Most don't even notice because they turn computer off and leave the room so are not there when it's cooling down.

Cause the PC would easily get above 60*C (140*F) under loads, that heats up everything, parts, case, etc. When its off it cools down.

Normal.

Course I always buy heavy duty cases so that never happens with those.

Yeah, heating and cooling of thin metal will expand and retracts and that makes sounds specially if there are screws holding it down

thermal expansion
different materials expand at different rates and cool at different times

ps/xbox do that when powered on for a few hours then turned off

Do you worry when house windows, house radiators, car engines, etc. make that sound?

It's just normal expansion and shrinkage, no harm will come of it, it's fine.

i dont think it is normal, my PC never makes such sounds. Maybe your case is made from cheap plastic? or your PC temperatures are rly high?:lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Just because you don't notice doesn't mean yours doesn't.

Maybe your not in the room or close enough to hear it once it's cooled enough to make the sounds.
Maybe your case dampens the sounds so you don't notice them.
Maybe you're listening to music
Maybe you're watching TV
Maybe you're talking on the phone
Maybe your system doesn't get that hot it makes audible noises when cooling.
Maybe this or Maybe that.

Bottomline is it's normal. How noisy depends on lots of things.

i literally sleep next to my PC and there is no background noise :lunar2019piginablanket:
Never heard my PC do this, but I've heard my monitor do it. As others said it's likely from expansion/contraction of the housing (plastic, or whatever it may be) and it's not harmful really.
