Stripped screws
We all know that thermal paste will dry up and not to mention dust accumulation, I had intended to clean out my laptops heatsink & fans.

I've done it before and was attempting another go.

Using the exact same screwdriver as the last time, I proceeded to undo the screws (all of these were the same size). When I got to a certain screw, I started turning the screw and immediately noticed the feeling of the screw deforming. To be fair, these screws felt very cheap and thus I discovered how they cut costs on this machine.

Now I have no way of accessing the cooler to clean it effectively or adequately remove the dust or even repaste the thermal compound.

How does one get around this problem? Appreciate any help

You can try using a rubberband over the screwdriver.

Or buy a screw extractor set.

the dremel is interesting, except for metal shavings all over the mobo and the heat buildup without a heatsink. I would try rubberband then extracter set.

Update, I've tried rubber bands. My screwdriver just pierced through and screw didnt move.
Finding screw extractors now
