Asus GTX 1060 Turbo NOISE
Hey Folks,

I've came here because I need couple of advises in resolving my current problem. I was preparing my PC for Cyberpunk 2077 but I didn't buy GPU in time. There was that last postpone in November, so I made few other purchases and decided to buy new GPU in december (I wanted to buy gtx 1660super). Was very bad decision after all. Now in my country there are no any GPUs of medium level have left on the market (I guess, because of winter holidays+global pandemic). I checked many local resellers and it's inpossible to find anything except of low level GPUs and high-end GPUs. So, I decided to search on FB marketplace. I never buy used products but I managed to find new, sealed Asus GTX 1060 Turbo (6 gb vram). I am seeing this as temporary decision and in future I still will sell it buying something else. BUT now I have a concern about noise. My flat has only one room and my PC stands in it. I've never used GPUs with blower coolers before. My case is Corsair Alpha. My question is, how bad will it be?.. Are those blower coolers really work like vacuum cleaners? My other PC specs are pretty queit - I have Be Quiet! PSU and CPU cooler of the same brand, also case fans are actuslly silent. So, thia blower will be the only thing which will produce thar loud sound.

Avoid blower style cooled GPUs if noise is a concern. The only good use case for them is when using an extremely airflow limited Mini-ITX case that would choke a standard axial 1~3 fan style cooler.

Well, It's not like there is plenty of choice for me now.

I've owned a couple of blower cooled style cards and noise is an issue compared to the open air fan cooler.

Things I've tried but with mixed results. You could limit the FPS of the game.

I looked at undervolting the card so that it runs a bit cooler. How far you can go depends on the quality of the silicon for the card to remain stable.

Or change the fan profile to something a bit less aggressive. The card will run hotter and may throttle and downclock itself.

All these actions will lead to a loss in performance and just delays the inevitable. I've done more drastic things but it's probably not worth the effort for a 1060.

If it's an option wear headphones.

Do you know the decibels difference between blowers and fans?

So, it's very bad. Thank you.
Well, I have gtx1050Ti already. I want to increase performance for Cyberpunk 2077, not to decrease it. And I prefer speakers over headphones. I already wrote seller that I will buy the card but I guess, I need to reconsider.

I can tell you that a 3 fan cooler is much quieter than a blower and is easier to run near silently under load. With headphones on I can't even hear my PC while gaming and it's right next to me.

Then I am not buying that card.

I re-ckecked local stores through local search website and found some options. Those are online stores and I doubt they still have cards listed on the webpage but I will call and ask tomorrow.

Finding gtx 1660 super with normal fans and for normal price would be very good.

Better off waiting. Prices will drop eventually, and NVIDIA could release a new GTX generation at any time if they feel the need to.

Well, Cyberpunk 2077 launch is next week :D (which already on itself sounds unrealistic but it's finally getting released!)
