How do I stop Windows from randomly changing settings?
I recently bought a new battery for my laptop and i was playing games normally, everything running fine on battery and AC but today games decided to be unplayeble on battery! I went to "change advanced power settings" and enabled everything but I still cant play games on battery FPS drops drastically and I get a random input lag of up to 5 seconds of delay. I never mess with my laptop settings and yet my PC never behaves the same way, sometimes when I start it the display looks as if it had a filter that dims the colors, sometimes some games wont launch properly even though the were running perfectlly the previous day, sometimes my mouse sensitivity changes for no reason and cant be set back to normal until i restart my pc with my mouse unpluged, even my mics stopped working on my PC all of them, I have to connect them via bluetooth to use them. Im sick of it, random stupid things like that have happened with all the PCs ive owned, wether it is desktop or laptop PCs, am I very unlucky or is this something that happens to eryone? and if it is, how can I stop this from happening?

There's multiple things to address.

Many laptops have behavior that is not unusual to them. Among them include some of the things you mentioned, such as display dimming while on battery, or lower performance. They do this in an attempt to prolong battery life. There are sometimes way to minimize or change this (for example, I set the brightness for my display to be the same on battery as it is when plugged in). Adjusting power options is usually where you want to look for this.

Bad performance can be a number of things, from lack of hardware power (need hardware specifications, game[s] , and settings used to better answer this) to thermal throttling, which again is less uncommon on laptops when doing long-term demanding tasks like gaming (temperature monitoring should be done to check this).

As for settings changing, it could be a number of things depending on the specifics.

For example, I've never had mouse sensitivity change me on me from Windows 98 to Windows 10 using a variety of mice (wired and wireless). I don't think that's normal.

Can't speak for Bluetooth; never used it at all.

well you are a victim of the fps latency hacks that the cheaters abuse on the servers ..

thous type of hacks makes the targeted pc to drop the fps down to 20-25 fps .. if you rejoin the match .. it will be nornal again unless he targets you again !

it could allso be a driveby malware wich datamine your graphic´s card for bitcoins .. wich is illegal btw and can put the hacker in jail for it !
