gigabyte b450m ds3h bios update requires q-flash/flash drive?
Hi y'all, I've been watching a lot of videos about this motherboard and the bios update. Is it mandatory to have a q-flash or flash drive to update the bios or I can do it without any external peripherals? I just want to know in advance because I'll be purchasing this motherboard including the ryzen 5 3600.

Is it written on the box?

Is this the one ? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-10#kf

These guys told you already.

Those come with BIOS already updated for Matisse CPUs unless it`s been sitting in some warehouse for two years. If you order it from some big retailer there is no problem with it.
Maybe better to buy the B550 version of this board though when thinking about future compatibility: Gigabyte B550M DS3H.

That CPU is old enough to have support on a MB bought now.

Unless theres Gigabyte software that allows BIOS updates within Windows you'll need a USB flash drive to flash it.

Theyre cheap, it shouldnt be a problem.

The BIOS may be able to read directly from the disks, my ASUS C8H does so I don't need to use a flash drive to update the BIOS.
Edit: so long as you have an OS installed.

if you are buying from a store that sells quantity of cpus/boards you will get one with a new enough bios to support the cpu

worst case, rma or return/exchange at the store
or amd can loan you a bios update kit(cpu/cooler) to update bios yourself

AGESA updates provide performance and compatibility updates for both CPU and memory.

The box says "AMD Ryzen Desktop 2000 Ready".

Just get a flashdrive, OP.

found out that you can do it with the gigabyte app center. I guess no use of a flashdrive?

I already have an OS installed, so it should be fine if I can go to the site and download the gigabyte app center? I heard that someone had a black screen when they turned on their pc with the same motherboard and ryzen 3600

Would like to but I'm on a tight budget. Hopefully my store will discount this motherboard for black friday
