Now, do you think my build and case can handle the GPU I am interested in? Minus the power supply of course.
If you choose to watercool or mod in the future the cards have a bunch of extra performance to give and can pull 700w ish.
Regarding the card fitting, it's a wide boy abd may not close with the side on, the case also seems pretty restrictive surflow wise, could potentially fix the issue with a vertical mount kit, but, may be best to look for a new case, as you are looking at £1400 cards, I can assume you can afford a new case also :)
I appreciate the information on the Power Supply, as I want the 1200 watt anyhow. I however really dont wanna invest in another case as this one is only a year and half old and I love it lol. The size is mid range and I am unsure about the GPU specs as far as dimension are concerned.
I have read a lot of conflicting articles stating if I have a RTX 2080 I should be fine. As well as some stating it can fit in a mid range but it'll be snug. I'm just not very good with... well dimensions :P
I am wondering what my dimensions are for what card needs... if that makes sense.
2080 founders edition is 267mm (10.5 inches)
Okay... getting closer lol. Now, with my given dimensions above. Whats my case size and how much space will it have?
The length won't be an isdue, the width will be, it's 138mm/5.4 inches wide, on top of that you have the power cable sticking out a good 25mm/ 1 inch further.
It's basically the size of the large custom 2080ti models which were notably larger than more basic 2080 models.
Given that my old 2080ti ftw3 had the cables squashed against the glass in a lian li 011 dynamique and looking at pictures of your case, it doesn't appear to have as much space, which is where vertical mounting could help, but, depending on how the slots on the back are done, may require some modding with a dremmel
On the back I have four slots. Ill have to measure it to see what 5.4 inches would look like. As far as the power cord....umm
Well the cases total dimensions look to be 7 inches wide, it's unlikely you'll fit a card thst with power cables in, is going to be a good 6 1/2 inches wide in it given the motherboard / standoffs and space behind the motherboard tray is likely to be more than half an inch, best bet is to go measure how much space you have now, or how wide your existing card is, or, go Google its dimensions, failing that, tell us its model so we can Google it for you....
