Looks like windows 10 with a different theme.
Not sure if i like it.
i'm going to use it together with Manjaro as a dual boot for the next days/weeks/months or maybe the next couple of years.
Edit: Steam still thinks that i use windows 10 if i click on hardware information lol
This is very prudent as Microsoft telemetry servers are cruising and will flag your system. You may get a disclaimer window upon installing but if successful, you won't likely get security updates. So if you enjoy clean-installing every new build that comes out, that's what will likely happen.
I say "likely" because this whole Windows 11 freak-show has been: 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
But for those who were hoping that Microsoft would revert some of its hardware requirements at the last minute, sorry, that actually didn't happen.
First thing i did was to check memory integrity and bit defender was off, i had nothing to disable, and use windows update troubleshooter to check if windows update had errors.
In fact there is a windows update error with troubleshooter
SheduledTasksPlugin;DynamicProtectionPlugin WaaSMedicService.
I think it's possible it's just tpm missing to reach security with WIndows update, but i'm off course surely wrong.
So far, the start menu is nice, but i would have the choice to be able to switch to two pannels for both favorites and all aps,
I have no grief agzainst windows 11, Just the settings menu thzat are different than previous one, but it's a all in one menu, so maybe it's better this way.
One thing that is nice, is just about windows 10 and windows 11 are almost similar minus security required for certain tasks / modules.
Ok the waasmedic error is maybe linked to pending updates, i will reboot and check if some updates will install.
The only downside is slightly increased ram usage, but that's not a big deal for most people.
Try this https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/how-to-bypass-the-windows-11-tpm-20-requirement/
I'm about to try it right now on an fx-8350 that I just got rejected for incompatibility
Edit: it works
I have an Intel i7 7700k
I might as well switch to Linux too, but unfortunately most of my favorite games like Destiny 2 runs on BattleEye Anti Cheat.
Not for a few years, anyway.
lol, you seriously think Windows 11 will break steam? Then no joke, people really would go to Linux. At least it runs Steam.
