PC booting into bios
So I had something weird happen to my pc today. Yesterday I put it into sleep mode and today I powered it up but it kept on booting into the bios. I exit the bios but it keeps on directing me to the bios and not to windows. After shutting it down things went back to normal. Is this a sign of an aging PC, it is about 3 years old, or am I just crazy and over exaggerating?

Not sure. If it only happened the once and worked fine after a full start up, then I wouldn't be too worried. Check your boot drive to make sure there are no bad sectors. If it does it again check to see if the boot drive shows up in BIOS.

may be bios battery, but 3yrs is way too early for it to be dead, most make it 10+ years

That could be. A lot of times if the BIOS battery is failing BIOS settings get lost. OP should check the XMP to see if it is still enabled.
My machine does that after a power failure, it needs you to enter bios and verify settings and resave.

How do I check my boot drive has no bad sectors?

XMP is still enabled and my overclocks that I have set for my CPU is still there. I hope it was just a random instance and will not happen again.

Good to hear these components are to last. Right now I am playing games and such doing my usual daily task and it is doing fine. I hope it stays that way from now on and I won't experience this again lol
Use the Error Checking utility built in to Microsoft Windows.
Double Click (My) Computer, and right-click the hard disk.
On the shortcut menu, click Properties, and on the Tools tab in the Properties dialog box.
Click Check Now in the Error-Checking Status area.
In the Check Disk dialog box, select the Automatically Fix File System Errors check box, select the Scan For And Attempt Recovery Of Bad Sectors check box, and then click Start.
View Windows help on detecting and repairing disk errors for more information.

Could be caused by a lot of things - what motherboard ? what drive ? other specs ?

Depends on manufacturer, but common reasons:
It could not find a boot device (your disk had an issue) or boot loader issue
Keyboard was disconnected / not found during boot
O/C settings failed
BIOS battery was disconnected or voltage dropped
BIOS was configured to be entered on next boot
Random bitflip caused by cosmic rays :)

There was no error sectors for the storages. Maybe it was a one time thing. Thank you I might need this tool in the future.

I've checked on some of the common issues and it all runs good. Maybe it is something with the super natural that only happens once lol

may have been a usb stick
if bios boot order is set to try to boot from usb and other things before the drive it could delay or prevent booting to the os on the sata/m.2 drive
