Steam games make other apps run slow

Whenever I run fairly high power demanding games on steam, it really slows down my computer particularly google chrome and web browsers. This means whenever I watch youtube while playing games, it buffers unless I'm tabbed out of the game. Anyone know why? Is there something wrong with my computer?

steam -> settings -> interface tab
untick the bottom 5 boxes

Specs? If we knew what you were using for a computer it would help.

Optimise your steam and turn off all the extra crap.

Go into settings>Library then tick:
"Low Bandwidth Mode"
"Low Performance Mode"
Click "OK"

Now, go into your friends and chat click settings (the cog wheel) and toggle off animated avatars and frames.

I am using asus b550m motherboard, ryzen 5 3600 processor, 2x hyperX kingston fury 8gb ram and a nvidia gtx 1650 gpu

i ve got GTX 1650 and Steam never caps any youtube videos . When i am stuck , watch videos in order to advance in the game . lol . In particular , the mirror puzzle of Shadow of the tomb raider
