Arctis 3 console edition, help pls

So I recently bought a pair of arctis 3 console edition headphones because a fried recommended them to me since they were relatively affordable for me. I asked him, "will they even work, it says CONSOLE on the box", to what he replied with, "yea since the use tne same 3.5 mm output".
So they came in today and they work just fine, the sound is really good, but, my computer doesn't detect the microphone, also, people can't hear me, but can instead hear what's going on on my computer.
Any pointers to what i should do?

I believe you might have to set up the mic and calibrate it so you could use it on pc.i don't know were the settings to do that, but you could look it up.

If its a single 3.5mm you would need a splitter, one for the mic portion the other for the sound

Yup, you need a splitter. Use the back pink and green ports in the MB.

Had that problem myself with Artic 7.
On PC:
Go in on Win sound option and put in artic3(game) on sound.
Artic3(Mic) on mic.
Same you have to do on steam, skype and so on...
