Could be hardware related, could be (as you mentioned) malware, or software related.
Have you checked the temperature of your PC?, you can use for example CPUID to monitor your temperatures.

in idle? aka without playing? if so, then its probably a bit high (ecpecially the CPU)
Is Windows Scanning in the Background? (open ressource monitor in task manager and look the Disk usage)
deinstall this piece of software junk and other Anti Virus stuff which might be installed like Norton, AVG etc.
What is your CPU? 140F (around 60°C) in idle seems way to high for me, also like 130F for the GPU? are your cooler running? are they clean?
i bet on your system is more junk because that what those pre build PC Builds always have, a lot of bloatware.
but anyway, check your Radiator. Since i don't use Liquid Cooling my Suggestions stop here in this regard.
