650W psu rtx 3080
Will a 650W psu be enough for a 3080?
The thing is they always recommend more..I had a 550W psu with my 2080 super and never had a problem even tho they said you will need atleast 650W.

I upgraded to 650w because i got one really cheap from a friend

Should be enough.
750w is what is recommended on Nvidias site for the 3080 and 3090. The 650w may be ok but then again it may not. The quality of the PSU will also effect if it will be ok. A lower quality PSU may not be able to output maximum wattage let alone output it continuously.

I'd wait for more reviews on actual released cards before making a purchase. Better than purchasing a new GPU and then needing a new PSU to run it.
Nvidia recommend higher than needed because they don't want any power delivery issues being blamed on their product. if you have a decent 650w psu and aren't overclocking the snot out of other components in your system then a decent 650w should be fine. but this is speculation and only actual testing and reviews can answer your question more definitively..
750w is for worst case which means i9-10980XE + 3080/3090 stock. This doesnt mean your total consumption could be higher if you oc. For example my old config with i9-9900k and 2080ti had 650w peak and you dont want to run your psu at 100% or anything close to 100%.
