In notification area right click the speaker icon > sounds > playback tab > Right click output device you want to use and set it as default.
If that doesn't work try getting drivers from Gigabytes website (preset to win10 64bit so if you're using a different version of windows change the Driver OS dropdown option)
https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/GA-AB350N-Gaming-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver
Upgrade your ram to 16gb. 4gb will never be enough.
Update your Motherboard to latest bios.
https://codecpack.co/download/realtek-audio-drivers.html
Only update the BIOS if it offers a fix for an issue you're having. Or risk bricking the board. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
First do a full wipe using DDU in safe mode and when you do, select Realtek under the Audio drop down box. Don't wipe anything else. Reboot when cleaning is done and then wait for Windows to detect and auto install it's built in HD AUDIO Driver. Once this is done, run the Realtek driver installer you downloaded.
If you have any GPU audio still enabled. Disable this via Device Manager to stop having HDMI/DP audio output options listed in Windows Playback Devices listing. However remember to disable these after any gpu driver updates or clean installs as they will come back again in the future when doing such things down the road with drivers. No point having all those HDMI/DP listed if you don't use them.
One major reason why some can't install or update their drivers is due to having certain oem drivers installed which block the use of upgrade via the official ones. Once you wipe a driver fully and reboot you should be fine to install the latest official one.
check the oem site for drivers, see if it even has the realtek sound card
edit:
Audio: Realtek® ALC1220 codec
driver here
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350N-Gaming-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver
if using the hdmi from the mobo (with amd apu) its using the amd apu audio driver
if using hdmi from the gpu for audio, it will be using the amd gpu audio driver
if using the 3.5mm jacks or spdif header, its using the onboard realtek audio
99% of PCS all have Realtek HD
So if you like Realtek Audio Manager, fine, but disable the auto plug detection in its settings.
Assign your PC the default for Playback and Recording via Windows Audio Settings just like we always had in XP, VISTA, 7, 8...
I believe thats the first time i ever mentioned it
And its not 100% incorrect if incorrect at all
OEM Drivers can be modified in one way or another for a specific board or chipset that the Standard manually downloaded Drivers from Realtek may not have
Such as a GUI, or graphic art or even saying which audio port is which
That aside
I'm speaking from experience not just spitting out bs
When i use the standard drivers compared to the ASUS supplied drivers there ARE Differences like i detailed above such as the 5.1 Rear/Side being different for example in my case, from one driver to the other and any other variations there might be.
So I do apologize for any quick jumping down anyone's throat here.
Overall in the end it won't hurt to try the latest driver direct from Realtek official site. If that gives you any issues, wipe it via Control Panel > Programs and Features and then grab the latest available from either laptop maker or motherboard maker
I dont think thats what i was saying though?
Its not wrong to do so, there just might be differences between Realtek supplied drivers and ASUS/etc supplied drivers designed for each boards audio layout such as what i detailed above.
