8Bitdo bluetooth controller device not reconizing dualshock ps4 controller.
I'm using the 8bitdo bluetooth wireless reciever to use my dualshock 4 controllers on my pc wirelessly and for some reason today it just stopped reconzing the controller in the middle of fallout 4. When I first got the device and used it it worked perfectly. It reconized my ps4 controller as a ps4 controller and everything was fine and dandy. Then about a month or two later it stopped reconizing it as a ps4 controller and started reconzing it as a xbox one/360 controller. I thought to myself "okay this is fine I guess no big deal, all the buttons still work exactly the same it's just the prompts that are different." The light coming from my controller had always been blue mind you, while that may seem pointless and insignificant I thought I should share it anyways because i heard the Windows sound effect where normally a device gets disconnected but then it immediatly got reconected (my device had been plugged in the whole time, nothing changed) and when my ps4 controller came back on the light was green which it has never been before. I thought this was weird but all the buttons remained the same so I didn't think it was a big deal. Now today in the controller settings on steam it is reconizing my dualshock 4 controller as a "generic controller" even though I have generic controller support turned off in my settings (as well as xbox). More specifically it's reconizing the 8bitdo device as a generic controller. I know this is a really specific problem but I'm hoping someone out there in our 7. billion population has either had this problem too or can help me at least in some way. Also to be more specific, my ps4 controller some of the buttons do respond now but they are really strange. For example my D-pad doesn't register as a D-pad anymore and is now classified as the x and y axis like my controller stick normally does. My controller sticks however don't respond at all and I can't even recalibrate them because they are completely unresponsive. This whole thing is so strange to me because I wasn't even doing anything to antagonize my controller or the 8bitdo device. I was just in the middle of playing fallout 4 like I have been all day and all of a sudden it just stopped and did the strange things I listed above. Again I know this is a long shot but if anyone else out there has bought the 8bitdo device or any other wireless bluetooth adapter for their pc and has been experiencing similar issues please let me know.

Did you maybe accidentally do the button combination that toggles between xinput and directinput?

That's a thing? I mean I might've but I have no idea how I would've done that. Is there a way I can reverse it or test it out?
