They're worth investigating.
Mouse pad? Bah.. 1" 3 ring binder with a nylon stocking or two pulled over it. Lot's of colour choices too. ;)
Get a good quality Razor mouse pad. Nice and large.
Corsair strafe silent mx
Roccat taito xxl pad (great if you don't wanna see scratches or so on your desk, was at least my reason coz dark wood)
Logitech mx master 2s, but think that's not rly a mice for you, so g502
~ $202 on amazon.com
I'd recommend a Corsair M65. It's a relatively basic design, but the mechanicals are stellar.
As for keyboards, you're looking for something Cherry MX based. Beyond that, it's really an aesthetic choice at that price range.
And for mouse pads, I'd go with Corsair. Their pads are good quality and comfortable, and after a year of using mine it shows zero wear or damage.
You see, people have different budgets for different needs / tastes.

Add a pad of your liking, I prefer cloth pads but they do age and wear out faster than plastic and metal pads. This is the pad I'm using:

No, it isn't. I got many years out of it (bought in 2012) and my mom uses it now and she loves it (except for the noise). I should order a silenced Topre for her but not doing imports these days.
There are Topres that made it from early 90's to today. Point being? They're rated to millions of keystrokes before chatter. There simply is no comparison in build quality, and the feel is WAY superior.
First off, the metal case did me around $500, the keyboard was $300. That is without adding in the customs taxes and such.
No, no $150-200 keyboard offers similar quality or feel of an actual RealForce in a metal shell, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
