GPU Artifacts when under heavy load.
Hello! Since I've gotten my PC 3 years ago, there's been this weird issue that has been haunting me since I got the PC. The issue is that the GPU starts acting weird and I have to hard shut off my PC with the power button. There are three types of this artifacting. First type is where the image becomes a mess. The second type is where the image freezes up to a random solid color (depending on what image is shown). The third type is the same as the second type but also adds in white lines that look detailed a bit. I have tried a different monitor with a different cable but no luck. My power supply is a grey box LC POWER(?). It's 500w but has no PCI cable. The issue makes me think it's the graphics card because the graphics card has no place to place in a PCI cable, And if it were a lower wattage PSU like 330w Then it would be sufficient enough power for my graphics card. Any thoughts?

Artifacting is usually a sign of a dying gpu, you really should've looked into this when you first got the PC. Get it tested and repaired.

Yeah, I actually think my GPU is dying a bit. It's an AMD R7 250.

I also want to run GPU Benchmarks but I'm a bit of a scary cat for my PC.
You might be able to get away with using it as it could work like it is for a long time even but expect a black screen/no input signal at some point which it won't be able to get back from.

You should check to see if your cpu motherboard has support for integrated graphics and just use that instead, have a look on the back of your tower do you see any video outputs from your motherboard?

If not then consider an upgrade tbh but you would need a new psu as well more than likely for anything worth paying for. Would look for a cheap rx 470/570 and psu replacement if on a low budget.
What games? It's unlikely but some games will run out of vram (on below 3 gb vram cards) and artifact but there's not many of those games. Try unigine heaven low benchmark (it's free)? I think your card is dying or if lucky it might be a software problem but unlikely.

Temperatures ok? Heat damage?

This does not always mean a dying gpu. Try getting it to run cooler or maybe try to force a lower clock, such as on the Memory of the gpu. See if this helps avoid artifacting. I've had this occur on some gpus only in certain games simply cause the game seemed very sensitive to any gpu OC, which it often had a factory OC by default.

If it continues to artifact then I'd suggest dying vram issue.
rx250 is an old gpu
if hes using new drivers it can also cause problems with it
with a larger menu of commands that are not supported by the gpu

psu may be the problem, but even a poor 500w should be able to run the system without problems
if it has a 110/220v switch, replace it anyway
The 2020 AMD drivers of any version really shouldn't be used on gpus older then RX 4xx or 5xx series.

They also won't help a low end gpu like a 250 anyways, even if the drivers are better. As they generally only help aid newer gpus.

I did a bit of research, and my motherboard HAS a VGA port, but my CPU doesn't have intergrated graphics if i remember correctly.

I kept myself on the 2017 drivers and never updated until I reinstalled Windows.

I think I shouldn't do that, I've opened Speccy and it said my temps were at a stable 30 degrees celsius.

No record of over 40 degrees celcius on the card. Although my CPU does idle at a high temperature (70c), I used Speccy to monitor the temparatures.

Also I'm sure I should get something worse than an RX 470 Since the current GPU bottlenecks my CPU a bit.
To be specific, my graphics card is a PowerColor R7 250 1gb. I've also done some research and to get a really bad on budget fix, i would need 145 dollars for a GT 710 (60$ GDDR5) Thermaltake SMART RGB 500W Power supply (65$) And a single dvi-d to VGA Adapter so I can use both monitors (17$). Might not seem like an issue, but It will take me a couple of months to get money for everything. I would stick with my PSU if it's not needed to replace it. I'm pretty sure it's a dying GPU since other things would get affected if it was the PSU. By the way I can't post anymore so I have to edit right now. By the way the processor is an AMD X4 840 3.1 ghz. (couldn't post link, also yes I'm the same guy from the input not support discussion.)Operating System

Just use CPU I'D HWMONITOR it's much bette4. Speccy is better suited for viewing certain in depth info, not so much for temp monitoring. You want to always use an app that can record and show the current and max at the same time.

What's your full specs?
To easily share this, in Speccy click File > Publish > copy to clipboard. Paste the link here.

For RX 250 it might be a good idea to DDU wipe your drivers and then reboot and try an older AMD gpu driver. Like one from 2019 before Adrenaline 2020 came out. If you can't find them on amd.com look on guru3d.com
