Parental Control Blocking Steam - I am the admin!
Hi, I have problems with my Steam account. Every time I try to run Steam, it runs the self-updater, it tries to connect to the account, but then the application closes and shows only in the active processes. I tried to run a game which ran on Steam and it said:
"Game blocked for current user by Windows Parental Control" and then there's a link:
"See the Steam support site for more information" which when clicked, opens my Steam through which I can get into the library and play games. And they work.
That's why it's so strange - I can play the games but have to make a detour via a direct game executable.
Now please note: I AM THE ONLY ADMIN ON THE COMPUTER. I HAVE THE PARENTAL CONTROL ENABLED BUT NOT FOR MY ACCOUNT.
Thank you for your time, fellas.

What is the operating system you are running? Also, you probably do not need parental controlls when you can set your children up as users and set their permissions.

Add the steam program to exceptions for parental control, idk how to do it.

I'm on Win 7. Well, I could probably uninstall the program... I just didn't want to lose it in case I'll be needing it in the future. I'll try that and tell you how it went!

And it worked! I was a bit afraid that an another program was doing it (not parental control), because it was really strange. But now it's fine.
Thanks everyone for the tips!
