- psu 875 watts that i have...
Alienware Aurora-R4
Intel Core i7-3930K (Six Core, 12MB Cache) Overclocked up to 4.1Ghz
16GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz
Just bought this... Because I'm crazy lol... Hope my old PC can handle it...
EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Ftw3 Ultra, Overclocked, 2.75 Slot Extreme Cool Triple + iCX2, 65C Gaming, RGB, Metal Backplate, 11GB GDDR6, 11G-P4-2487-KR

Even if you can fit one in, like the FTW3 Ultra, you run into thermal issues involving your CPU and other components because the Aurora R3 was not designed to handle an open air GPU and Dell/Alienware didn't have that in mind since most of their Auroras ship with GPUs that have blower style coolers.
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2280-KR
Buy the Blower Style 2080 Ti.
Blower Style GPUs exhaust heat from the rear of the GPU. While it may not overclock as well as the "premium" GPUs like the FTW3 and may be warmer, this is a much safer bet for the Aurora R3. Using an open air GPU requires proper airflow of at least 3 case fans to intake and exhaust heat that the GPU dumps in the case. If you don't have a case capable of that, you run into overheating issues due to heat circulation in the case, thus affecting your CPU cooling performance, motherboard and more.
If you're putting a not so warm card like a 1060, you can close an eye, but a 2080 Ti produces quite some heat since it's a high end card.
Do not underestimate how hot a GPU can get in a poor airflow system or a chassis designed just for blower GPUs.
If you can cancel your order and change it to the blower.
You will just be driving up costs for minimal difference :/
or will my pc be fine?
but took a screenshot of this via HWmonitor

and a decent tower cpu cooler (212 is still a good chioce and cheap)
not the easiest to transplant the dell x51 into a new case, but can be done
look up its front panel header and plug it in the new case
odd (if it has one) cant be used, but is rarely needed anymroe, most new cases dont even have the 5.25 bay for one
you can also pick up a new ssd or hdd to add more storage when needed
there are alot of small cases with good airflow
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/case/#E=3,7&sort=price&A=0&J=2,20&K=2,17&D=4,2&f=7&t=5,7,6
or any atx/m-atx case will also fit its m-atx board
Installed RTX 2080 Ti
(didnt go for the super... decided to take risk for Ti )
So far things seem good...
Idle System temps are about the same as idle system temps when i had two GTX 980s...
As for gaming...
I tried the Witcher 3 on Ultra settings with DSR at 4k and getting the same FPS as this youtube video...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoXj4GT16Do
Also cpu usage averages 50% usage, with occasional 60% during heavy load...
As for the main concern... The Temps of the system...
(gpu seems to be blowing downwards towards the Power supply i think? )
Here are the results...
This is a screenshot of min average and MAX temps (max temps on right side... min temps is left side)
