What happens when a keyboard runs out of click lifespan
Thinking of getting the apex pro which has a 100 million keypress lifespan and im wondering:
- if the 100 million keypresses is per key or the entire keyboard altogether
- Does the key/keyboard stop functioning after 100 million key presses
- on average how long (months/years) is 100 million keypresses for someone who spends 3+ hours a day using the keyboard (1-2 hours gaming)

OP answer this question, how many times do you need to sit down on it a chair before it breaks?

Now apply the same question to your question, then ask yourself did you ask a silly question, and answer will be yes, as there no fixed answer to that question.

Can you say?...condescending....
If you're having trouble understanding what I said, I will explain it another way for you to understand, if you like, just ask.

it is per key, the circuits isnt the thing being worn out, its the switch itself
it could stop functioning before or after the 100 million key presses, the 100 million key presses is only an estimate

if you are worried about the longevity of your keyboard, i would get a keyboard that has hot-swappable switches if you dont want to solder
you have things like drop alt keyboard[drop.com], there is also an 87 key version called the drop ctrl
if you want a fully customized keyboard you can get the barebones version[drop.com], put whatever combination of switches you want
alps switches are just a spring you can fix yourself if you want old option

Mine is not a gaming keyboard. It's 7 years old. It's last way longer than I expected. Spacebar was bit wonky but I got that fixed.
