Need help to know what graphic card I could buy
Hello to everybody.

At the moment I got a Nvidia Geforce 315 (512 MB). The problem is, that the cooling system is broken, so that it overheats and my screen shows a blackscreen saying no graphic card can be found. That's why enjoying games is difficult right now.
I have no idea about graphic cards and would really appreciate if some of you could tell me what "cheap" options there are. I don't need a 300 euro graphic card to play in HD. I just want to be able to play without interruptions. :D

Btw: I got a compact PC, the Aspire AX3900 so the height and length of the graca is important too.

Thank you to everyone trying to help!

Since this PC isn't all that powerfull and I doubt you play any really demanding games anyway I recommend a GTX 1050. Make sure you buy a low-profile card and that it includes a low-profile backplate, your case will not fit a normal sized card.

But just to be sure, what are the full specs of this machine? PSU included.
From what I can see you have a 220w PSU a gt 1030 pulls around 30w so it should work but a 300w PSU is recommended.

Thank you very much, May I add you to tell you further details?

a quick google tells its a 220w PSU. so a 1050 could work, since its low wattage GPU.

Actually I am sorry I did a mistake. It's not the whole PC that turns off. It's the display. Showing a message that says the graphic card can't be found. Sorry for that

That PC should be fine with any card that doesn't require extra power connectors.
It means look at the Nvidia GT 1030. That's a very old system and I would even look for a used low profile nvidia GT GPU.

a GT 1030 or a low profile 1050 will work that system. But the Power supply's in Pre-build systems are usually not very reliable.

i looked at the specs on the 315 and max power consumption is 33 watts. similar power draw to the gt 1030 so you won't have to get a new psu. i would go with that.

Thank you very much for all your help. :)

I found this one on Amazon:

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 1030 Low Profile 2G (15 x 5 x 15 cm)

Do you think it's good?

Gt1030 for ultimate budget, it's actually a solid little card and will play anything, even if you need to turn things down to low on some newer titles and costs about 80 bucks, stepping up from there you have the gtx1050, which is a solid step up and should cost around 120-150 ish, then you get to the gtx1050ti which is the base level for a 'proper' gaming card with double the Vram and alot more power than either if the previous 2, they can be had between 150-200.

With any of these 3 you don't need additional power (some 1050ti have the connections but don't really need it) and you can get all 3 in short / low profile variants which should fit your case.

It's just a question of how much you want to spend, each step has a solid performance gain over the previous.

it's low-end by today's standards, but is way better than what you currently have. you can watch videos on youtube if you want to know what to expect.
