Power Supply Upgrade Help For My First Gaming PC
Hello everyone I just got my first PC its an Inspiron 5675 (AMD) here is the link: http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/desktops/inspiron-gaming-desktop-amd/spd/inspiron-5675-gaming-desktop/di5675_btsb_h931e

This is my first gaming PC and let me tell you its working great and running everything I want and I want it to stay that way, the stock power supply is only 460 watts and I will be upgrading the RAM to 16gb from 8gb and also putting an SSD into it and maybe a new after market CPU cooler. 460 watts seems a little low to do all of this without upgrading the PSU as well. So what size do you think I should go for? I was thinking at least 600 w - 750 w range? would that be the correct? and What Brands do you guys prefer?

Also is there any compatibility issues I should worry about when buying a PSU? or will any PSU basically work with any system?

Also I am new to the PC world so any other suggestions you guys can give me for upgrades would be appreciated ? Also I guess ill add this in aswell, After gaming all day the first day on my new rig I noticed the exhaust was quite hot, how worried should I be with high temps coming form my PC? will more fans help?

Thanks Steamy Community!

Is this PC worth the price? PLEASE HELP TIME RUNNING OUT!
I really want to get a gaming PC and this seems like a good deal in todays bad PC market considering the rise in prices of computer components. I live in Canada so PC parts are very expensive at the moment and building a custom PC would cost me well over $1600 for sure if I can even track down the parts that is. I would want to play games like PUBG, Squad, Escape From Tarkov, and arma3. This Model comes with the Ryzen 7 1700x CPU and the Rx 580 8gb for the GPU, would these parts allow me to play on high settings with good FPS on these titles? Or should I wait and build a custom PC in the future, who knows when parts will come down in price though.

Please dont go off topic because I need valuable input from the community before this sale ends and I miss out on a potential steal. Also this PC is regular $1'638.99 CAN and on sale for $1'149.99 CAN is this a good buy?
Good enough. Upgradability is limited so just keep that in mind.
You asked this on another thread. Itll work but its not a good deal
pros
RX 580 GPU which is roughly equivalent to a GTX 970 or GTX 1060. WIh the prices of GPUs now these are going for $500. That alone is about half the price of the system.
Ryzen 1700x is a very capable CPU that sells for about $310.

cons
only 8GB memory and only a 1 TB HD.

But based on the GPU and CPU I would say its a pretty good deal. Not sure why anyone is saying its not. To actually hand build this system would cost $1400-$1500.

Has only got 8GB memory, needs 16.
The memory speed is slow which ryzen does not perform well with (so I've read).
I wouldn't buy an rx580 gpu. I would only go with nvidia.
I suspect that a 460 watt psu is low for a 1700/rx580
I can't see the motherboard model mentioned. For me that's a do not buy itself.

As mentioned above it will work. Dell pc's can be expensive, so whether it is a good deal or not needs to be checked.

Can you guys elaborate a little? how is this not a good deal and how is the upgradability limited? Can I just not buy new parts and put them in? Also I asked this again because no body is giving me solid answers on this.
460 Watt Power Supply

WTF

A RX 580 + Ryzen needs at least 500 Watt, also that PSU could be a cheapo one.

Replace the PSU if you are going to buy that PC.
These guys are correct however. You should up the memory to 16GB and also opt for a bigger PSU if possible.

Thats what I am saying! Everybody seems to say "oh that psu is bad so dont buy" well if that the case I could just upgrade the psu and problem solved right, how does a bad psu make the whole computer a 'Do not buy'.

Everyone on here is making it sound like I need to pump out over $2500 to be able to play games! That cant be true right?

Do people not get that you can upgrade a pre-build or something? So if I got those upgrades would I have a good gaming rig on my hands? or is it still ♥♥♥♥ according to everyone on here?

MY point is that if people are looking at the price and there mind is equating this to how good of a deal is this is US dollars that is a lot less dollars than they think it is. I think its a real good deal personally. Hopefully it has space for more memory ( 2 slots on mother board with 2 4 GB rams would not allow for expansion unless you replaced alll the memory).

I dont understand how this is a bad PC though? Seems like everyone on here tells me I need dual GTX 1080's plus best cpu on market etc to be able to play games lol, is there no middle ground?

Is a good PC, just upgrade PSU and you'll be fine.
1920x1080p high settings FXAA 60+ fps.
A $50 good PSU could extend lifespan of PC.

Yes the motherboard has room for up to 32 gb of ram, also people are saying this PC can not be upgraded but even the page on Dell says this PC is easily upgradable along with numerous youtube videos on this PC. Everyone buying this PC put more RAM in to it from what i see.
comes with 1700 instead of 1700x, but comes with 16gb ram and is a little cheaper. not sure if if it costs extra to ship to canada?
