Buzzing/Electronic noise when playing games
A couple weeks ago I got a new Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT to replace the XFX RX 580 that produced an insane amount of coil whine, heat and fan noise. The RX 5600 XT was almost completely silent and a huge difference to the RX 580 even at full load, but i noticed when playing games there was a noticeable electronic noise that sounded like it came from the CPU/RAM area. It's a lot louder when on loading screens, and is still there when playing a game. If i tab out the sound stops instantly until i tab back onto a game.

I'm not sure if it was there before the GPU change because the old 580 was so loud i don't think i would notice it.

If it helps, here is the rest of my specs:

Ryzen 5 1600
Asus ROG B350-F Gaming Motherboard
RM550x Powersupply
G.Skill RGB 16gb 3000mhz RAM
Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler

no, just a hard drive and sata ssd
if i play a game like portal, an older game where the gpu fans don't spin, the buzzing noise is very quiet around the cpu area (but its there, i just need to put my ear literally right up to the computer). so i dont think its gpu coil whine. and like normal it stops instantly when i quit or tab out.

some corsir rm psus are known for coil whine

pop it open and use the paper tube towel trick to see where the whine is coming from

Yes load up a game to a loading screen with a ridiculously high fps. With side panel removed from case, put the paper towel roll up to where you think it's coming from and then put ear to the roll and see. Should be able to tell this way.

It will either be...

vrms in the upper left of motherboard.

Graphics card

Power supply

Also see if it is doable audible wise if you cap your fps to around 60-120 area

I think its the motherboard vrms. I might end up upgrading to a B450-F or B550-F eventually, along with a cou upgrade.
It doesn't hurt anythifng. Just wear headphones and enjoy your games and such.

What Motherboard are you on?

At this point might as well wait for Zen3 (Ryzen 5xxx Desktop CPU series) and the B/X 6xx chipset
