pentium g4400 vs i3-6100t

i plan on building a small linux box with an r7 250(using oss drivers and playing several games through gallium-nine), 8gb ddr4 ram, and either an i3-6100t or g4500/g4400. I need help deciding which one to get, because I want to know whether the i3-6100T is worth the extra $70. I heard that gallium-nine can help reduce cpu usage and make gpu usage go up, but will it really save me $70 and throw away the two extra threads from hyperthreading?

There isn't much difference between the two in single-core performance, it would depend on what games you plan to play and how heavily they utilize hyperthreading.

Some of those games are on the heavy side, i3-6100. T-version is with reduced performance.
Also R7 250 is rubbish, go with GTX 1050 instead.

i cant, the case im going to put it in is single slot low profile. also i prefer to use amd card because of gallium-nine, dri-prime, and oss drivers are easier to cope with. im going to be using a 1600x900 monitor

also with a powersupply ~200W

Probably better to go with little bigger ITX case then that can take RX 460 and ATX PSU since some of those games like Dying Light, Mad Max will be pretty crappy with R7 250.
