4K DSR on 1440P monitor will it make a big difference?

Or will it only destroy perfomance without much of a picture/graphics improvement. I was using it when i had 1080p ,monitor but i stopped using when i bought 1440p monitor because now games look better than on 1080p monitor with 4k DSR. Of course for 4k DSR or native i will have to run games on medium or high instead of ultra that i play them on 1440p due to 2500 and gtx 970 not being powerful enough for 4k max settings until i upgrade them but i would like to hear opinions on this. Monitor is DELLP2416D(24'' 1440P 60 HZ IPS). Or should i continue playing native 1440p until n a few years when i wll have upgraded pc buy a 4k-8K HDR monitor?

Can 2160p look better = Yes
But again, performance WILL take a large hit, especially given you only have a dated i5

Your system isn't really even that good for doing 1440p with good 60+ FPS
So yes I'd stick to 1440p native.

Plus many games can be buggy when AMD VSR or NVIDIA DSR is applied.

I wouldn't even bother running newer games at 2160p without at least a GTX 1080 or TitanX (Pascal)

I know it that why i asked if as my pc as it is now until i upgrade if it is worth to run 4k DSR on medium/ high instead of native1440p ultra. Does 4k DSR makes games look much better on 1440p monitor or the improvement is not so much compared to native 4k? I am upgrading my pc evry 3+ years and latest upgrade was on 2014 when i bought 970. So since sooner or latter i will have a 4k + max settings capable pc the question is now if 4k DSR on 1440p monitor rely makes that much of a improvement on graphics compared to 1440p natve and not the power that i will need for it. I know very well(and you do) that we need a core i7 6700k or better and a gtx 1080 or better for all games to run max settings 4k at 30+ fps and that any cpu and gpu lower than 6700k and 1080 will have trouble maxing the game at 4k.

Not considering you will have to turn visuals down; not worth even doing on your specs.
