Motherboard Ram specs.
4 DIMM memory slots (supports up to 2GB memory by DDR/DDR2)
Supports 1.8V/1.5V DDR DIMM
2 DIMM supports DDR2 533/400 MHz DIMM
2 DIMM supports DDR400/333/266 MHz
KINGSTON Kvr800d2n6/2g: <--- 800MHz
If you put 800mhz on 533mhz Motherboard it will downclock
What happens is that if the motherboard can't support a high number MHz, it will try to auto downclock the RAM, but very old motherboards don't have this option, so it won't detect it, or can't support it.
I check a little more, to see if it does have the option to auto clock your ram.
-edit-
So I check up on your board, it does work, which does downclock the RAM, I believe that stick could be defective, do you have a spare motherboard that use DD2 to test if it just the stick itself that defective?
TBH, I would really recommend just saving up for a new whole new PC, as that stuff is really outdated. I can see this being a great office, media, web games use, than gaming.
-edit-
If you do get new DDR2 ram, get the ones that are 533MHz.
This one is where someone using a single 2GB DDR2.

This one is pretty much confirm the whole slot problem, by everyone recommending 1GB per slot.

And of course, you can only use either DDR1 or DDR2 installed; not both at the same time.
But yea do 2x 1GB, install them, reset the CMOS and then boot and enter the BIOS.
