Something I found online:
I went to the advanced settings but there's no ON/OFF, only semi-annual channel (targeted) and semi-annual channel. There's also another option to limit bandwith used for downloading updates but if I set it too low it'll probably be updating 24/7 due to my slow internet speed. Can i somehow set the updates during unactive hours?
what omega meant was the option to "distribute updates to other computers in your network"
if you want to shut down updates then you go to network settings - click on your connection type and on the connection. then set it as metered connection
Never need to set Metered anymore; you can now tell Windows to not auto download any updates, period. Then there is other option for Windows Updates sharing: PCs over Network, PCs over Internet... yes disable all of that. It's right there in the Windows Updates settings.
Obvious best bet though is using ShutUp10 and disable (set to green) every box that deals with Peer2Peer or Sharing what so ever.

*The ones marked in Green have been Disabled.
Windows Updates via Peer-to-Peer
refers to "Sharing Windows Updates via PCs on Network -or- PCs through Internet"
