My PC is making a crackling sounds, like electricity, and shutting off completely, help
When ever I run big games, like fallout 4 or Overwatch, after awhile my pc makes a crackling noise for a few seconds before shutting off completely.
I'd much appreciate any advice you can give me to fix this problem.
Feel free to ask some questions to narrow down the search for the issue
Im not a techy man myself so please dont ask me questions too complicated!

What psu (power supply) do you have, brand/model/wattage? Sounds like dodgy psu getting maxed out from too much power draw from your components. I would advise not using pc at all until you source a replacement psu to confirm or rule it out.

Sounds like the power supply. I wouldn't turn it back on anymore, since you would risk damaging something in you're PC.

Forgive me for saying OP, but I wish we could archive this thread for posterity. This is why I always warn people to spend the money and buy a quality Power Supply. This would serve as a good cautionary tale for new builders.
