You could load a game and open Task Manager/Resource monitor or any other app that monitors network traffic while gaming and you'll see how low it is. You download/upload makes little difference to gaming. Your distance from servers and stability is what affects them the most.
Years and years ago I used to have 4-5 friends bring their PCs to my house and we would all play FPS games online using a 1/2mb download connection. No idea what upload was even if it was the same as download speed of 1/2 mb it was sufficent.
Newer games might send a bit more data but not that much more.
Wish I could get some decent upload speed in my area without having to drop hundreds on a gig speeds. Here's what offered in my area from two different ISPs (prices may variy a little between the companies and some plans may not be provided by both, but in the end the servies offered are very similar).
10mbps download / 2mbps upload (about $20 a month)
25-40mbps download / 5mbps upload (about $35 a month)
50-80mbps download / 5mbps upload (about $50 a month)
150mbps download / 10mbps upload (about $75 a month)
250mbps download / 10mbps upload (about $95 a month)
1000mbps download / 1000mbps upload (about $150 a month)
2000mbps download / 2000mbps upload (about $300 a month)
To get good upload speed in my area I have to almost drop $150+....that's just messed up.
Anyway, I spend about $50 a month and 5mbps (actually is around 6.5mbps when I check with http://www.speedtest.net/ ). Just wish I had better upload speeds for the folks that utilize my Plex server outside my network.
Long story short: A 10mbps upload won't impact any of your online gaming. I do just fine with my roughly 6mbps upload speed when gaming online.
