Is it safe to clean pc with compressed air?
Hi all,

It's time to clean my pc from dusts (never done this before). So I'm wondering is it safe to clean it with compressed air can? I mean, can my computer's components be damaged if some cold liquid from compressed air duster gets on them (motherboard, HDD, gpu etc.)?

Thank you!

just keeep the can upright and your good
I know that I should maintain duster straight but there's always a possibility that some cold liquid gets out of duster also.

Sure it's completely safe. And if it does spray liquid it will be fine, this stuff evaporates very quickly.
got myself an air duster. can be reused, not risk of moisture either. good investment.

Last year i purchased a "CompuCleaner Xpert - Electric Air Duster" from amazon for around £50, So much easier to clean out the pc instead of using those air duster cans, no moisture & saves you money in the long run.

Although cans of compressed air are fine to use, they're more expensive than investing in a good electric air duster, just use them in short bursts & hold the can upright.
Make sure not to let the fan's spin while you're cleaning the system though.

Electric Air Duster are the best thing to invest in, clean all kind of things.
Find a auto repair shop and have them blow it out. Recheck all the cables and your good to go.

And paying someone at a repair shop to use an electric air duster will be any cheaper?

Paying someone to actually clean out your system on a regular basis will cost you more than buying cans of air dusters in the long run.
Heck, you can even use a leaf blower to dust out your pc as long as you hold the fans in place to stop them from spinning and turn down the power to a minimum.

Everyone should own an air compressor, any counter argument is invalid.

Air compressor is love, air compressor is life.
Never been charged to blow out my computer with shop air. Maybe there will be a first time. What brand of lawn blower do you recommend. Omega bow to Omega.

...with some high pressure cleaner. That will certainly remove all dust!

Personal 2 cents: get a brush, and a vacuum cleaner. If you don't feel comfy using the latter, put some sock over the tube (i.e. nylon sock).
Keeping fans in place you should always do btw.

This...and if you want, keep a vacuum cleaner handy so the dust does not fly back into the case.
