is it possible to disable the middle button of the mouse?
well,i have a 12 year old wireless mouse from microsoft, its so old and used that you cant see the logo of microsoft anymore after so much use

the middle button click doesnt click anymore and if i scroll up/down the mouse starts to act weird

like it scrolls up without even touching the scroll button and more stuff

drivers updated btw

i know i can just not scroll but sometimes even if i dont want to do it,i do it

so i wonder if its possible to disable the scroll button, middle button,mouse3 or however you call it

Have you ever cleaned the insides of the mouse?

Because it sounds like you have a build-up of gunk on the optical rotary encoder wheel for the scroll wheel.

Screws are usually hidden under the pads on the bottom.

9 out of 10 this is the case.

Just remove the pads carefully so they can be put back when reassembled (otherwise you need to go hunting for replacements).

For reference on how bad it can be.

X-Mouse Button Control. Lets you assign/disable buttons per-app and globally.
