Power Supply w/GTX 1070
I hope this question is appropriate for the forum. So I bought a Corsair CX500 when I got my GTX1070, but realized the CX500 is garbage. Shuts down randomly, and the cables sometimes either short out or something to where pieces of my station will lose power. My previous PSU was a OCZ500SXS that I used to run my old GTX750TI. Ive looked through the voltage and the OCZ is very similar to the CX500 on voltage, watts, amperage, etc. But my question is can my OCZ be trusted to run my GTX 1070? When I used it previously I never had problems with it. But since I switched to the CX500 its like theres an issue every month.

You never had an issue with the OCZ and you're already trusting your CX500 despite you discovering it's garbage? What's the source of your concern or mistrust? Do you just want someone to tell you to get a new PSU? Because that seems to be the corner you're painting yourself into.

Yeah, trust it with your 1070. If it fries your gpu, you'll learn it's bigger garbage than the cx500. If you don't, it's like you're lying to yourself about the ocz being better because you haven't given it a chance to prove itself.

No they're not, I had an 800w it eventually died and couldn't run a gtx280/x4 965be.

Even products and brands with great track records invariably have a lemon once in a while and a customer who has a bad experience. So was so have OCZ PSU's always been terrible because you had one bad experience? Or did you just have one bad experience that doesn't supersede everyone else who's not had an issue, like OP?
