Question about Steam Link on 4K TVs.
I think most of us know how 4K TVs are supposed to work, they can upscale 1080p resolution to 4k, and while it's not true 4k, the better the TV's processor, the better the picture quality.

If I stream steam link @ 1080p to my 4k TV, will it automatically upscale the resolution the same way it would anything else? Has anyone here done this, is the quality at least as good as upscaled 1080p cable picture?

I don't have the option of hooking up my PC directly to the TV with an HDMI cable and using HDR, even though my GPU and TV both support HDR 10. They're in different rooms, and I can't hide the cable, even if I had a 25-30ft HDMI cable, so it's not an option.

The TV is a 55" Samsung q60. Would there be any settings on this TV I'd need to change to make this work?

depends on the tv

the steam link hardware is limited to 1080p

but upscaling adds another frame or so to the display delay
1080p is exactly 1/4 the res of 4k, so it will look good on it without upscaling (stretch/blur) the image

you can use another pc or shiled or latest gen pi or andorid box for 4k streaming from the host

TV has options in menu system via the remote of how to scale the picture.
