not the orig cherry, but very close clones
so i wouldn't recommend gateron
but i'v never tried kailth switches
take that as you will.
(currently have razer orange switches)
my rank goes
razer orange
ink blacks
outemu reds
razer yellow
mx brown
razer greens
outemu blues
mx reds
gateron clear
gateron reds
mx blues
gateron blues
Gateron has the best tooling, and is 1/3rd the price of cherry switchswi
Kailh box switches are also worth a look at, I don't recall anyone ever calling them bad. And they're made well.
Chances are though, you won't feel a difference between the two. But I guess you could order a few of each and try them out, or just buy Gaterons.
That wasn't what he asked, but I would like to add onto it - Browns feel like reds with breadcrumbs in them, your typing feels mushy, and dirty.
I much more prefer a clicky switch, a blue, or my current Razer Green.
That said, I don't mind heavy linears, but I would still stay away from them given the choice.
But it is all personal preference, don't have to justify liking the feeling.
Edit ; Sorry just realised you're the OP, haven't had my morning coffee yet, lmao.
