That's not much of an upgrade IMO, you're better off waiting for Ampere/Big Navi if you want something soon.

No, it will be a sidegrade. Not worth it. Both cards are similar in performance, the 1080 ti is slightly better.
Nice just scored this of someone for free that bought a 2070 super lol

Yeah stick with the 1080Ti until something much better comes out if you want something better than that unit, although its performance is really good and you likely wont need an upgrade - but if you do want an upgrade, definitely wait.

The friend recently bought a 2070 Super?

Wow, I can see the buyer's remorse coming up in a few months.

I'm still on a 1070ti and am waiting for 30xx/Big Navi for my next upgrade.

unless you really need the rt shortcuts on the 2070s
but not many games require or use it yet

When the RTX 2080 came out, the 1080Ti was trading blows with it in benchmarks.

2080 has been out for almost 2 years

+10% isnt exactly blowing it away

2080s is about a year old

+20% is a bigger improvement, may be worth the upgrade if you need the rt
Yeah not to bothered about rt atm.. :)

Gamer's Nexus subtitle for the 2070 Super review was literally "NVIDIA, we get it already, you know how to make a 1080 Ti"

There are of course some other bells and whistles included in Turing like RTX and the upgraded NVENC logic, but do you care about raytracing, and do you care about streaming? If not, the major selling points for Turing (other than performance), aren't

Not worth it. You can overclock and get similar performance to 2070s
