Monitor question
I have a Samsung 49 CRG. I just picked up a Samsung Odyssey G9. Why do I have resolution issues on some games when the 240hrz is activated? Some games wont recognize 5120x1440 @240hrz but will at 120hrz. Some games will load with some weird resolution that will makes it impossible to change to the correct resolution as the mouse cursor wont line up with clicking the settings in the main menu.

It all depends if game is made to actually support certain resolutions, not all games support ultrawide and some only support certain ultrawide resolutions.

I just thought it was odd that 5120x1440 only works with 120hrz not 240hrz. Never seen that before. I understand some games don't support super ultra wide but have I have always been able to play the game with stretched version.

Try turning adaptive sync off if you want to use 240 Hz, there are bunch of adjustment options with this monitor that only work with adaptive sync turned off.

Thanks. I saw that video. I'm not sure if its right but if I disable adaptive sync on the monitor it does not have an option for gsync in the nvidia control panel. If adaptive sync is on, gsync is enabled.

Yeah that`s what adaptive sync is, g-sync for Nvidia and freesync for AMD.
Honestly 240 Hz on that resolution is pretty much of a stretch anyway with the current hardware even if you have RTX 2080 Ti.

Oh for sure. I have a rtx 2080ti and it it has a hard time hitting 120fps on most games (somewhat new games). I can max out games like BF5 and CODMW with everything maxed but average around 40 to 50fps. I can deal with that as I don't want to turn down all the details for a extremely high FPS. Just a casual player.
