EDIT: it could also be caused by a driver issue, not necessarily a PSU failure (PSUs won't cause the system to reboot if there's not enough power, they shut down the system instead). The error message is misleading.
Try updating your drivers via the manufacturers directly.
The GPU is on the first slot.
Also made sure every cable is connected properly (of course with the PC/power cable off.)
I also tested the RAM with Memtest. Even switched the Slots on the Mainboard.
Disabled one of the Audio devices.
Disabled quick boot.
When i start a game sometimes i can barely get into the game when it reboots(crashes in seconds). Rarely i get into game for playing before it crashes (like few minutes).
It does not shut off entirely. Like i hit the Reset button.
Games i tested:
Gears 5
Battlefront 2
Killing Floor 2
Tekken 7
Mortal Kombat X
Did you use DDU for reinstalling your GPU Driver? if not use it. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
But anyway, test the Ram sticks on their own (1 at a time). If you have a spare PSU, test it yours anyway.
Tested both RAM Sticks as one.
so you could end up with a more stable OC with lesser boost. as standard to such games.
I ran GPU + CPU + RAM together.
When i open an app or chrome after a while it crashes (during testing)
When i run GPU for a while alone it crashes while opening an app or chrome
No Issues with RAM
No Issues with CPU
GPU: GPU: core: 1980 mem: 1750 temp: 70 GPU Load: 99% Mem load: 85% Fan: 35%
CPU: temp 84
I also noticed some black bars in games in the center (not the bars at top and bottom which are from resolution). Those are graphical artifacts.
There is also sometimes a peep sound when it crashes. I remember that from a previous GPU that failed once ( that one was completly gone.)
So i guess it's the GPU causing those reboots? I do not have a spare GPU sadly and CPU does not have one onboard. I can exchange it though for a new one.
Install MSI Afterburner amd change the Skin so you can see Power Limit on the main screen. Try a lower power boost/limit.
First tick all the Unlock options in Settings page too though.
If you have ANY loose power cable, this can easily cause this to happen when being put under anything from moderate to high load.
(no splitters or using chained connectors)
welcome to being a beta tester for amd xt gpus
I completly deinstalled GPU and Audio drivers with DDU (safed mode) and then installed the latest one for both.
All cables are solid
Underclocked the GPU with MSI Afterburner in Power and Core.
Plugged in a different PCI cable.
Today Gears 5 worked fine. I could play 2 matches straight without any issues.
But Battlefront 2 crashed before i could hit the Menu.
OK, didn't know that. (I bought an amd card once and got burned with drivers so never again. OP still needs to reduce power on the gpu to see if it's psu.)
