Buy from a third party seller and you are at the whims of them not newegg.
when searching or filtering items, tick the newegg seller/warehouse box
Otherwise you should be 100% fine buying directly from them or even 3rd party sellers as your payment option such as with a credit card will overrule their return policy usually as they can say no returns and that means nothing really with the use of a credit card much like on other sites such as ebay.
I only had to return something (two duplicate items) once. It was some strange case where later in DDR3 life cycle, some new RAM with certain ICs or chips or whatever wouldn't work with some older chipsets and I was trying to upgrade two PCs with 8 GB RAM. The manufacturer made two near identical sets, and one worked with older ones whereas the other didn't. I was able to return both for the one that worked. I want to say I did this through Newegg and not outside Newegg with the manufacturer but I'm not certain as this was years and years ago (both PCs still have said RAM and still work fine).
That said, I haven't purchased as much from them recently (no particular reason involving them, just less tech purchases lately besides a recent upgrade I instead did through Micro Center for cost and availability reasons).
Have to say they arent as important as they used to be because of Amazon, and the shipping costs tend to suck :/
And with that said, i decided to check Newegg
damn crazy and inconsistent prices/shipping for TP4056 boards
Im still on their mailing list, once in a great while I will poke over there... What a dumpsterfire its become.
I can also add in the hat as a newegg cutomer for years. First purchases on there were like 15 years ago. Long enough back that they have purged the purchse records from my account and only the email invoices remain (and man, did they look different back then) lol.
Where Newegg screwed me once was I had a brand new un-opened GPU I bought for a customer. Their phone support assured me that due to my situation I would not be charged any restocking fee since the box was still sealed. Well dam if they didn't charge me anyways and gave me back only like 320$ when it should have been 350$
I WISH they still had their physical store in my area
new egg is genuine, i'v ordered lots of stuff off their because they allow use of paypal.
shipping is longer, you have to pay for it too.. (there's no prime like amazon) but i always check newegg and amazon when looking to buy something, new egg sometimes has the better deals and they often have rebates and game deal bundles that are an amazing deal (like a free copy of ACO with a ryzen 3600 purchase as an example)
, they also do alot of sponsorships with youtubers
so you can get discount codes and special discounts on certain items (usually these can be stacked on top of existing sales for even more savings)
i don't mind new egg , honestly way better then ebay lol.
sometimes you can genuinely save alot of money there.
