new graphic card no windows
I bought new graphic card, installed. Computer boots, bios and messages are visible, but after that no windows, just black screen. Nothing like no input or signal on screen just black. No even installation usb works. Bios is ok. Maybe old MB but specifications fit. Power supply sems to be OK. Read a few discussions with similar problems, but no conclusion. Com with old graphic card still works OK. I don't think its faulty graphics.

what mobo?

older boards need a bios update for newer gpus
You see Windows when your monitor is connected to your integrated hdmi port? tell your bios you want to use dedicated graphics.

Asus m3a32-mvp wifi deluxe, Radeon sapphire pulse xr 5500 xt 8gb. The latest driver year 2012 there is no other.

Is it possible that it can run bios even though its not compatible?

I have no onboard graphics.
Some monitors needs to be "switched" to hdmi/dvi on the menu. so depending on how you connect it, you might have to click the monitor menu and then select the correct input.

That board you have is PCIE gen 2
i believe you'll see a performance hit but the gpu should atleast get into windows

BTW, you should use DDU[www.guru3d.com] to uninstall your old gpu drivers
they could be messing with your new card

aswell... it's plugged in properly ?(like the 6 or 8 pin connector from the PSU) and your PSU has enough wattage to run it right?

I tried uninstalling old drivers but it didnt work.
Card is installed properly because bios runs. Its 8 pin. PSU is ok.

Its like the computer stops at certain time. Not even keyboard lights up.

When I revert to old graphics everything run automaticly.

I compared spec of board and graphics and they fit.

yeah, i mean everything seems like it should work fine,
and the "if" the card was broken it would not post to bios
at this point i would probably attempt to refund that graphics card.
i suppose it's possible that the GPU bios is corrupt? like on the card itself
i can't really think of anything else, but since your computer works fine without the gpu
it's clearly the issue.

sorry for my post. I assumed you had onboard gfx. What someone else already suggested, check if your card gets enough power.
When there were two graphics inserted and old was in first slot windows was running. In device maneger were two cards but some incompatible primary windows driver. At this state I installed the latest amd adrenalin and it found both cards, also in device manager. After that I uninstalled and pulled the old graphics out. After booting no change, Bios messages and stop black screen. I have 700 w psu so I think my MB is too old even though it meets requirements.
psu brand/model/wattage?

if old gpu works and new gpu has blank display problem, possibility of psu did not provide enough power to the new gpu (or the new gpu is faulty [unlikely])

use a spare quality psu like seasonic focus 600W+

seasonic m12 700W but I think MB drivers are too old and there are no newer.
Is PCI e 4.0 backward compatible with PCI e 2.0 ?
OK Thanks for your posts. I just found out that PCIe 4.0 is not backward compatible so I suppose thats the problem.
