Reds aren't very nice, you can't feel when the key has been activated, so you have to press it down to much, just doesn't feel nice to type on for me.
Browns are pretty much the same, and in my exeprience are stiffer than blues, but are like Reds, linear until you hit right at the bottom, then you feel the bump at the bottom, but it's not like blues, it's more.....just gets a little stiffer.
I perfer Razer Greens or Blues; but I don't mind Browns, much better than Reds.
Honestly though, you should go and test them, or buy a tester off Ebay/Amazon.
It will really help you decide, as the only one that can tell you if you like it is you.
Gave the k552/m601 combo to a good friend a couple of years back, my favorite productivity board is the Qisan Magicforce 68 w/ Gateron browns which is a permanent fixture on my linux workstation. Was eyeing Logitech's romer-g boards for my gaming rig since I tried one on display and thought the lower activation point was perfect, currently using a budget tkl w/ low-profile browns from gofreetech - almost the same response as the Romer-G for 1/2 the price.
If you're looking at browns have to recommend checking out logitech boards on display at local stores to give them a try.
With a key tester at home and my usual amount of envirnoment noise I knew after a few key presses the blues were just too noisy. If I wore noise isolating headphones all the time when using a keyboard with blue switches maybe but as I don't they'd do my head in. Settles for reds with O rings. Quieter than my old membrane boards now
