Edit: I’m using my Smart Phone to post this topic.
You already have GPU only or also other components?
I personally would go with the i3 8100 over the 2200g if these were my only options. I'm pretty sure it outpeforms the 2200g in gaming by how much I don't know.
I was looking for i3 8100 vs 2200g comparisons and I chose this video because I think this comparison use a GTX 1080. Other channels used 1060/1050ti so it was harders to see the difference in CPU peformance.

I think OP only has a GTX950 that he got on sale and is looking to start a new build.
edit: nvm he might actually have other components since he had an old build. Guess waiting on reply might be best.

I would stick with the i3. I think anything higher would go beyond your budget.
I made a list just to come up with pricing. I'm not recommending these parts.
